Our Creed

“I believe in Theta Chi, its traditions and its ideals. Born of sturdy manhood, nurtured by resolute men, ennobled by high and sacred purpose, it has taken its place among the educational institutions of America as a promoter of knowledge, an advancer of culture and a builder of character."

"It inspires true friendship: teaches truth, temperance and tolerance, extols virtue, exacts harmony, and extends a helping hand to all who seek it."

“I believe in the primacy of alma mater; in the usefulness of my fraternity, in its influence and its accomplishments and I shall do all in my power to perpetuate its ideals, thereby serving my God, my country and my fellow-man.”

About Our Chapter

The Delta Mu Chapter of Theta Chi was founded in 1951 and has since then continued to provide a brotherhood like no other. After a successful reinstatement in 2012, we continue to improve every year. Our brothers are a very diverse group, with backgrounds ranging from a few miles away to halfway across the world. On campus we have a presence in almost every college at our University and various student organizations besides our own. Within our brotherhood we've been making strides as well by connecting with brothers all across the country. In addition to our presence at Resolute Man events through Nationals, we hosted the very first All Texas Formal with three other chapter in our state.

President's Letter

Dear Brothers, Parents, and Friends, and UT Community at large,

It’s an incredible honor to serve as the President of the Delta Mu Chapter of Theta Chi here at The University of Texas at Austin. As we gear up for the 2025–2026 academic year, our brotherhood is full of optimism, energy, and pride—not just in what we’ve accomplished, but in where we’re going next.

This academic year marks the 75th anniversary of the Delta Mu Chapter, a milestone that represents generations of brotherhood, leadership, and impact on the Forty Acres. As we prepare to celebrate this legacy, we’re proud to say that our chapter is stronger than ever—growing in numbers, raising the bar on excellence, and staying true to the values of Truth, Temperance, and Tolerance.

This past year brought several highlights we’re especially proud of. Our chapter saw continued academic improvement, with a steadily rising average GPA that reflects our commitment to being students first. We also continued to grow one of our signature events: GI Theta Chi, our annual philanthropy initiative supporting U.S. veterans. The event brought out incredible support from the campus and local community, raising funds and awareness for those who have served our country.

Spring 2025 was also a time to celebrate. Our brothers enjoyed a successful All-Texas Formal, joining forces with Theta Chi chapters across the state for a weekend of brotherhood, memories, and tradition. This event reminded us of the powerful network we’re part of—not just on our campus, but nationally.

Looking ahead, we’re doubling down on what makes Delta Mu special. We’ve strengthened recruitment, safety, and operations, and are proud of the culture we’re continuing to build. We're also investing in the Resolute Man Program, ensuring that every brother in our chapter is recognized and supported in his journey—whether it’s in academics, leadership, service, or personal growth.

To our parents, alumni, and friends: thank you. Your continued support makes this experience possible. Whether it’s through mentorship, donations, or simply cheering us on from afar, you help shape the chapter and keep the bonds of Theta Chi alive across generations.

Here’s to 75 years of Delta Mu—and an even stronger legacy ahead.

Fraternally,

Chris Favela
